"Becoming a Cartographer" Due Thursday, September 18th
Students in this class will explore the history of the United States and New York State. This course will span from Pre-Columbian times through the framing of the Constitution. The content will be presented using political, geographical, social and economical themes. Students will gain an understanding of how these themes have had an impact on the people of the United States in their interactions with each other. Primary and secondary source documents will be analyzed with an emphasis on developing students’ reading and writing abilities in preparation for the 9th grade regents exam. Students will be exposed to a variety of teaching strategies that will enable them to demonstrate creativity, innovation, critical-thinking and problem solving skills.
